CLIENT: International Publishing Company

A comprehensive audit of existing sales strategy

The brief: An independent assessment of existing sales strategy and the current systems for a leading academic publisher in the world market place. The aim was to ensure that they were working as efficiently as possible, and to ensure that future development plans enabled their sales team to focus on the strongest sales opportunities.

Outcome: Essence Training Consultants spent time with key staff in the organisation to fully understand and assess their existing approach. By ensuring a full understanding of the company strategy, an independent critique could be given, best practice reinforced and a fresh perspective provided for future development.

Benefits of the Approach:

  • The company continued to focus on what it does best – develop and sell textbooks
  • Key staff were able to contribute to the company’s strategy by being honest and open with ideas and feedback
  • Reassurances given that investment and development were being targeted correctly
  • Strategies developed to meet identified needs and maximise future sales growth

What they had to say: "Essence provided an extremely market-focused assessment of our sales systems and provided a number of excellent strategic suggestions for driving future growth. Their extensive experience in the education market not only informed their strategic recommendations but also gave them huge credibility with our sales team. A potentially sensitive review was carried out objectively and tactfully, ensuring that the entire team found the process a positive experience"
