Essence Training Consultants was established by Jo Jones to meet an increasing need in the market for training companies that offer a constructive and collaborative approach. Jo combines a successful track record in sales with an extensive knowledge of training practises, gained as both delegate and trainer.

Not just relying on her wealth of experience as a trainer, Jo attends regular training courses and conferences. This ensures she is up-to-date with the latest developments and that she is never far away from the delegate experience.

Jo has successfully completed the The Institute Of Leadership and Management accredited Train the Trainer course and PSS (Professional Selling Skills). She holds membership to the ILM who are the leading UK training approving organisation for leadership and management.

Jo was formerly head of Training and Development for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Pearson Education. The company is widely recognised as setting the industry standard in training and development and Jo's role included the design and implementation of programmes to meet the ever-changing needs of the company and market place. This in turn contributed to Pearson remaining ahead of the competition.

Jo has also worked with Maskew Miller Longman in South Africa to develop and implement training and management systems to support the company within its operating environment overseas. The success of the firm following Jo’s input reflects the impact she made on the business.

Jo started her career with Prentice Hall as an academic rep. Consistently exceeding targets she was promoted to senior rep and then made Sales Manager before becoming head of Training and Development.

Throughout her career Jo has prided herself on spending much of her time listening to what is happening in the sales environment and understanding the issues that sales and support staff have in overcoming both typical and new objections.

Jo has also gained valuable experience in the Charity Sector. A recent project for a homeless charity in Leeds generated over £10 000 through the development and launch of a cookbook.
